  • 8 tbsp 1 stick salted butter, melted
  • ½ cup white sugar raw cane sugar preferred
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar or substitute with white sugar + 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour 6.75 oz
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt plus a pinch for extra flavor
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips mix of semisweet and dark chocolate chunks

Method
 

  1. 1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Melt butter until mostly liquid but not too hot.
  4. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  5. Add vanilla extract and egg, mixing just until combined.
  6. 2️⃣ Mix the Dry Ingredients
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  8. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  9. 3️⃣ Fold in the Chocolate
  10. Gently mix in chocolate chips and chunks for even distribution.

  12. Roll dough into 12 large balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  13. Bake for 9-11 minutes, removing when edges are golden but centers appear slightly underbaked.
